Adroite is a strategic communications company working closely with clients to develop, preserve and enhance their reputations to appropriate audiences through well thought-out strategic communications. We're based in Wellington, with clients based all over the country.

Our strengths include strategic counsel, crisis preparedness and reputation/issues management, and media relations (including media and presentation training). Organisations experiencing crisis management issues, both externally and in-house, seek our common sense and practical advice.

Adroite’s writing and communications skills ensure our clients’ communications are current, accurate, timely and well-targeted to their intended audiences.

We work closely with them to help provide both strategic direction as well as giving hands-on tactical support with strong attention to detail. We not only work closely with - and report to - our clients’ key decision-makers, but also we use our strong teamwork skills to work alongside an organisation’s other communications professionals.

Understanding key clients

Working closely and understanding your key clients is, as we all know, vital to the success of your business.

Key clients want personal engagement and a deep understanding of their needs. Sending them an online survey to get their feedback is not enough. They don't feel special and they won't tell you anyway - or not what you need to hear.

At Adroite, we've developed a key client feedback programme where we visit your key clients for a one-on-one discussion about all aspects of your client service. Your clients not only give us an honest evaluation of your current service delivery regime and how you can improve it, but it also gives you a vital snapshot of their future needs and aspirations, and how you can help them achieve those goals. 

Crisis preparedness

We continue to work with businesses in developing communications plans around crisis preparedness. This gives management, and the board, comfort that the reputational risks that are unique to your business have been identified, and you have a robust comms plan if the worst happens. 


We have worked for several organisations in their communications around sexual harassment and/or bullying allegations. It goes without saying that this is a highly sensitive subject requiring a great deal of strategic thought, finesse and thoughtful responses. 


We have very much enjoyed working with the Plimmer family on the branding for its farming entity, Motukawa Land Co, based just east of Taihape. This project included brand development, website (which we also wrote), stationery, signage, caps and other apparel. We salute the fabulous work of Mission Hall Creative on its design work on the Motukawa brand.

Strategic communications projects

Throughout 2019, we worked on strategic communications projects for many different specialised audiences (including in-house comms).

One of Adroite's strengths is our editorial skills which include news gathering, commissioning editorial, writing, subediting, production and publishing. On behalf of our clients we currently publish (and act as editor) on a number of magazines, newsletters (hard copy and online), handbooks and so on.
